This is a low quality video but you can see the finish, texture and layering processes that I use to create depth and richness in my work. This particular piece is a 60"x60" acrylic on panel. Im utilizing metallic base coats and washes to create a "candy" effect when transparent colors are layered over them. My overall goal is to give the viewer a surprise as they start to move past the piece and see the colors slightly change. It really adds an illusion of movement to my work, thus creating more interest.
I also like to add the linear work in to give an otherwise, flowing atmospheric design, structure and balance. I like everything in color, mood and design to compliment each other in this fashion, creating a dynamic piece that is sure to pull you in and keep your senses entertained.
